Stochastic EA

USER GUIDE – Stochastic EA

The Stochastic EA is a powerful trading tool that utilizes the Stochastic Oscillator to generate trade signals based on overbought/oversold conditions, crossovers, and trend reversals. This EA offers multiple entry strategies, customizable levels, and signal confirmation settings, making it suitable for traders looking for precise momentum-based trading opportunities.

Key Input Parameters:

  • Active Stoch: Enables or disables the Stochastic strategy.
  • Signal Type (Stoch_Type): Defines the logic used for entry signals (see “Entry Logic” below).
  • TimeFrame: Sets the timeframe for Stochastic calculations (e.g., current chart timeframe or a custom timeframe).
  • STOCH K / STOCH D / STOCH Slow: Configures the %K, %D, and slowing values for the Stochastic Oscillator.
  • STOCH Method: Selects the moving average method used in the Stochastic calculation (SMA, EMA, etc.).
  • STOCH Price: Defines the price type for Stochastic calculations (e.g., Low/High or Close).
  • Stoch Buy Level: Defines the oversold level for buy signals (default: 20).
  • Stoch Sell Level: Defines the overbought level for sell signals (default: 80).
  • Open Trade After Reset: Determines whether the EA should wait for a reset level before opening a new trade.
  • STO Buy Reset Level: Defines the level at which a buy trade can be re-entered after a reset (default: 40).
  • STO Sell Reset Level: Defines the level at which a sell trade can be re-entered after a reset (default: 60).
  • Reverse Stoch Signal: If enabled, reverses the default buy/sell signals of the Stochastic strategy.
  • STO Signal Bars: Defines how many bars back the EA checks for a valid Stochastic signal (default: 0 – current bar).

Entry Logic (Stochastic Trading Strategies)

  • Cross at OS/OB: When the Stochastic %K line crosses the %D line at the oversold (buy) or overbought (sell) level.
  • Cross at Any Level (In Pro Version): When the Stochastic %K line crosses the %D line at any level, not just at oversold/overbought zones.
  • Cross MAIN Line at OS/OB (In Pro Version): When the Stochastic MAIN (%K) line crosses the oversold or overbought level.
  • Cross SIGNAL Line at OS/OB (In Pro Version): When the Stochastic SIGNAL (%D) line crosses the oversold or overbought level.
  • Cross COMEBACK MAIN Line at OS/OB (In Pro Version): When the MAIN line reverses and crosses back into the oversold/overbought zone.
  • Cross COMEBACK SIGNAL Line at OS/OB (In Pro Version): When the SIGNAL line reverses and crosses back into the oversold/overbought zone.
  • MAIN Line at Oversold/Overbought Level (In Pro Version): When the MAIN line remains within the oversold or overbought zone.
  • SIGNAL Line at Oversold/Overbought Level (In Pro Version): When the SIGNAL line remains within the oversold or overbought zone.

How the EA Works

  • The EA continuously monitors the Stochastic Oscillator based on the selected entry logic.
  • Once a valid buy or sell signal is detected, the EA opens a trade following the configured lot size, risk, and trade management settings.
  • If Open Trade After Reset is enabled, the EA will wait for the Stochastic to exit and re-enter the signal zone before opening a new trade.
  • The EA follows predefined Stop Loss (SL), Take Profit (TP), and trade exit conditions based on the Trade Closing Section settings.
